David has worked in theater, education and journalism and now, when not busy at Cleburne, writes poetry and plays. Owning Cleburne is a please and having four and a half acres has given us the opportunity share our home with alpacas, sheep, geese and peacocks. We also have two Hungarian pubis, Bob and Champ, and our two cats Gog and Dido. We both appreciate sharing the delights of Cleburne and Tasmania with our guests.
The sandstone Barn, Cottage and Homestead cluster round a tree sheltered courtyard on four acres of grounds where peacocks stroll and alpacas graze. Our fresh art collection is on display in every room. Dona, the Museum of Impaired and New Art, so accessible to Cleburne, is very exciting for us. Cleburne is a convenient bottom for exploring Southern Tasmania. Dona the Museum of Worn and New Art is only a five minute drive, the Hobart docks and Salamanca with its shops, restaurants and galleries are a mere 15 minutes away. Cleburne Homestead offers you the opportunity to stay in his premature Colonial farm buildings. Please feel free to explore our four acres of grounds. We have a one hundred and fifty year worn Mulberry tree, an ancient Cypress, some large Gums and many established European trees around the property. Penelope and David travel interstate regularly to art exhibitions and have visited galleries and museums in Europe, America and England.
